Psychotherapeutic Counselling

Psychotherapy can be both powerful and life changing, it can improve your mental health and help to manage emotions, and fulfil your potential. What distinguishes psychotherapeutic counselling from traditional counselling, is the emphasis of the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist.

Working with a psychotherapist can provide a safe environment to help you to express your thoughts and feelings, and to further explore these and what they mean for you.

This is a confidential, non-judgemental space, where you can feel heard and understood.  Exploring your feelings and emotions can help you to process them and and to gain deeper insight, to help you to view things in a new light.  This can allow you to find better ways to cope by altering how you think and behave in certain situations. This can have a powerful impact on relationships in your life, including the one with yourself, and help to heal trauma you may have experienced.

What happens in a psychotherapy session?

You will be supported to talk about your feelings, behaviours and thoughts and we will work together at a pace you feel comfortable with.  Psychotherapy is not about me telling you what to do, I will listen and I may ask questions around what you have said, to help you to gain clarity and to view things in a different way.

Sessions with me, may involve some relaxation techniques and visualisation work, if it feels appropriate for you.  Sometimes I may suggest things to try in between sessions to help you to achieve the changes you are seeking.

I offer face to face and online appointments.

Fees - £60 per session
